Currently pursuing a degree in Forestry at the University of Palangkaraya, Jeremia's academic journey has been marked by a keen interest in courses that delve into the intricacies of forest ecosystems.
Among the various courses attended, Jeremia found Forest Soil Science, Forestry Policy, and Climatology particularly memorable. In Forest Soil Science, the study of soil constituents and thevarious biota inhabiting both the soil surface and its depths captivated Jeremia. Forestry Policy intrigued Jeremia due to its focus on the critical role of policies and regulations in effectively managing forests. Beyond gaining scout knowledge, these activities allowed him to intimately connect with the natural world alongside fellow scouts. Furthermore, Jeremia's interests extended to karate martial arts, where he not only engaged inthe discipline's training but also participated in competitive tournaments.
Jeremia's fascination with forests is rooted in their inherent beauty and their role as vital oxygen producers and carbon dioxide absorbers. He is particularly concerned about the forests in Kalimantan, recognizing their abundance and the urgent need to protect them. While the region boasts rich forests, Jeremia has witnessed firsthand the detrimental effects of deforestation through practices like cutting and burning. This firsthand exposure fuels his determination to safeguard these precious natural resources.
