Out of an abundance of caution, the Orang Utan Republik Foundation and the Indonesian Consulate in Los Angeles have officially postponed the previously scheduled August 28, 2021, Pongo Environmental Awards and Benefit to Saturday, November 13, 2021. Rising Covid-19 cases of the delta variant and a new Mask Mandate in Los Angeles County prompted the decision to reschedule. "The health and safety of our guests and all involved in putting on the event are of paramount importance", said OURF President Gary Shapiro. The Indonesian Consulate office was in full agreement.
OURF hopes all sponsors, ticket buyers, and Pongo Award recipients understand the reasoning for the rescheduling of the organization’s annual event and will adjust their schedules accordingly.
